Calgary based DJ and producer, Stickybuds, has been on the hustle for a decade, traveling the world playing festivals like Glastonbury (UK), Breakfest (AUS), Boomtown (UK), Envision (Costa Rica), Burning Man (USA), and Shambhala (CAN), and even securing a featured sync in Sony’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming” trailer thanks to his collaboration with K+Lab on “Clap Ya Hands Now,” Stickybuds has now revealed his debut artist album Take A Stand. Out now via Westwood Recordings, the album was recorded in seven countries and features eleven vocalists and nine musicians including Burro Banton, Frase, Blackout JA, Richard Kim, Rubi Dan, Prince Alla, Mr. Bill, Too Many T’s, Sacha Vee, and BridgeHill.

Following previously released singles, the politically charged anthems “Crooked Politicians” featuring Richard Kim and “The Firestarter” featuring Blackout JA, the remainder of Take A Stand effortlessly delves into a myriad of genres with heavy ties to reggae and dub. “This album is a collection of music that I created to document how I’ve been feeling about the world lately,” describes Stickybuds real name Tyler Martens. “In the 9 songs on the album there are 11 different vocalists. 11 different voices expressing different messages and topics from anti war, corruption, personal growth, economics, accountability and love.”Click play below to hear how Stickybuds is feeling about our current state of affairs.
